I'm Allison Elizabeth McCue Blackburn. Nice to meet you!

I chose the picture above because this is me  with an excited smile. I know that because my nose crinkles when I'm excited. I'm excited in this photograph because it was the early Spring of 2010, a few weeks before my wedding, during my bridal shoot taken by my best friend, Caroline Fontenot. I also chose this picture because I'm holding a pennant banner that I made for our wedding, which is significant because my wedding marked the beginning of my journey of creating things. I'd always considered myself a creative person, but it wasn't until I made most of the decorative pieces for my wedding that I began to realize just how much joy I found in hand-making items.
