Welcoming Another Autumn

Knitted pumpkins: Locally made by Memories of Mom, purchased at The Unicoi County Apple Festival. I couldn't believe how perfect the colors were for my living room!
Dried Pumpkins: Michael's
Berry garland: Michael's

Yarn pumpkin garland: Precious DIY with instructions here.
Leaf garland: Hand-drawn leaves cut out of construction paper and threaded with twine.....total elementary school seasonal craft project decor!

If you want this super cute backdrop for you own computer you can download it free here. There's still a whole half of October left to use it!

Yesterday, we had the most beautiful break from what seems to be daily dreariness. We took advantage of the sunshine while we had the chance!

Leave are so much fun! But it's even more fun to watch Finn realizing how fun leaves are for the first time! Since August, I've been thinking back a lot to a year ago, remembering how small Finn was last Halloween, and it's hard to believe....here he was last October:
I remember last year listening to lots of Ella Fitzgerald and picking wild goldenrod out of my neighbor's overgrown side yard.

As much as I so enjoyed the gift of a sunny day yesterday, there's some kind of quiet excitement to the gloomy skies making the October backdrop for bright colored leaves. This weather makes it all the more perfect for drinking hot apple cider, carving pumpkins, and watching The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! So welcome back today gray skies!
Happy mid-October everyone! Soak it up, soon it will be winter!
